Manteigas Municipality is integrated in a privileged region for leisure, grounded on its natural conditions, on its ecological, environmental and landscape values and on the cultural and ethnographic traditions that represent it.
Manteigas offers a wide natural space with unique landscapes in national and European terms, where the River Zêzere Glacier Valley rules because of its exclusive character, finalist of the category “Great Reliefs”, of the initiative “7 Natural Wonders of Portugal”.
We also emphasize the importance of the water, which is everywhere, since there is snow every year, there are plenty of rivers, water courses, natural lagoons or dams, among other elements which are only highlighted when they are discovered by themselves.
Know the traditional ways followed by the shepherds and by the mountain populations, revive the culture and the ancient traditions of the region, visit the forgotten places. The Green Tracks Network here proposed will allow you to discover 200 km (124 miles) of unique and rewarding sensations.
